Doch irina Kirishitan—also known as Dochirīna Kirishitan—is a Catholic catechism. It is one of the Kirishitan editions printed using a movable-type printing press brought to Japan from the West in the late sixteenth century. Four editions are known to survive today: two in romanized Japanese and two in Japanese script.

This work takes as its motif a copy of the Japanese-script edition published in Nagasaki in 1600, now held by the Biblioteca Casanatense in Rome. Its use of flowing, connected hiragana makes it unusual among Kirishitan editions. I selected the cover and five pages from the final chapter and printed them repeatedly in layers of ink.
